Project is funded by the EU and partners in the implementation of the Project are Association for entrepreneurship and business LiNK Mostar, municipality of Žepče and University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar. Duration of the Project is two years and the value of the Project is 379.538 Euros. The Project is funded by the EU in amount of 85% and co-funded by municipality of Žepče and University “Džemal Bijedić” – Agro-Mediterranean Faculty in Mostar in amount of 15%.
Overall objectives of the Project are: - Generating economic development and raising employment rates by raising the competitiveness of the MAP sub-sector facilitating development - Economic strengthening of the stakeholders in the sector by maintenance and improvement of current activities, creating and added value of products based on the know-how, introduction of innovative technologies, marketing based approach to markets, introduction of standards and certificates and networking.
Specific objectives of the Project are: - Establishment of a sustainable network of actors involved with gathering, producing and processing activities within the MAP sub-sector which will provide relevant information, furnish collaboration among the actors and provide access to “know-how”, facilitating, thus, self-employment and providing additional sources of income. - Facilitate improvement of the existing and creation of new producers and processing companies in the MAP sub-sector through raising products processing to a higher level by introduction of innovative technologies and raising processing capacities by acquiring required equipment and certification.
Target groups: - Associations and Cooperatives involved with purchasing and processing of medicinal plants: “Agrofarm” – Žepče, “Plodna dolina” – Skelani, “Agroplod” – Stolac, “Radobolja” – Mostar; - Companies involved with processing of medicinal and aromatic plants: “Ljekobilje Ilić” – Zavidovići, “Prirodno bilje” – Banja Luka, “Vextra” – Mostar, “Ljekobilje” – Trebinje, “Hercegovina bilje” – Ljubinje, “Flores” – Uskoplje
Project beneficiaries: Members and co-operators of associations and cooperatives: - Gatherers of medicinal plants within the herbal sector - Agricultural producers involved with both conventional and organic farming of medicinal plants
Project activities: 1. Setting up and creating preconditions for development of the “AgroMAP NETWORK”; 2. Creation of a machinery ring; 3. Marketing activities – marketing strategy and Brand of Supply Chain, initial activities on a creation of a brand; 4. Educational workshops for the target group and beneficiaries of the Project; 5. Initiating a procedure for a creation of a credit line for the MAP sub-sector; 6. Visibility action;
- Support and improvement of existing and creation of new actors in the MAP sub-sector by introduction of innovative technologies, use of equipment, establishment of a machinery ring; - Increased income for AgroMAP NETWORK actors by setting up new farms, certification, creation of marketing strategy, branding and identification of foreign target markets; - Raised awareness and capabilities of target groups and beneficiaries of the network; - Launched initiative to create an adequate credit line for the MAP sub-sector.
